사우디아라비아 Al Jubail 지역의 SWRO 4기 담수화 플랜트에 ERI사의 Pressure Exchanger 형식의 에너지 회수설비가 공급되기로 결정됐다.

이는 Marafig 유틸리티 당국과 계약 체결한 Acciona Agua사에 의하여 추진된 것으로 10만㎥/일 규모의 담수화 플랜트를 설계·건설하며 10년간의 서비스 등의 일괄계약으로 내년 말 완공할 예정이다. 한편, SWRO플랜트의 건설 착공은 지난해 말부터 시작됐다.

ERI lands Al-Jubail contract in Saudi Arabia

Acciona Agua has awarded a contract to Energy Recovery Inc for PX Pressure Exchanger energy‑recovery equipment for the SWRO‑4 desalination plant in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Marafiq Power & Water Utility Company awarded Acciona Agua a contract to design, construct and bring into service the 100,000 m³/d desalination plant by the end of 2014. Construction on the seawater reverse-osmosis plant began in 2012.

Acciona Agua's international construction director and project manager for the Jubail Project, Manuel Manjón, said, " Given the size and scale of our Saudi project, we need our plant to run with the best technology, and we're getting that from Energy Recovery. We have been implementing isobaric pressure‑exchangers for the majority of our desalination plants for almost a decade, and the device's performance has always exceeded our expectations."
