BLUEINGREEN COMPLETES 25TH WATER TREATMENT INSTALLATION

Officials at BlueInGreen™ announced the water treatment company's 25th installation. Featuring four flagship solutions for aeration, pH adjustment, disinfection and odor control, BlueInGreen unveiled three completed installations in Jefferson Parish, La., Fayetteville, Ark. and Parkville, Mo., as well as two upcoming projects in Olathe, Kan. and Harmony Lake, Alberta, Canada.

"It's an honor to have all of our solutions selected and installed by such great communities and industries across North America," said Senior Vice President Chris Milligan. "It's a testament to our technology platform and dedicated employees that we can achieve success in such a wide variety of locations and applications."

In late 2015, Jefferson Parish installed the SDOX-CS® 600, capable of delivering up to 1,800 pounds of dissolved oxygen per day, and the SDOX-CS 1000, capable of delivering up to 7,800 pounds of dissolved oxygen per day in its East Bank wastewater collection system. The tandem SDOX-CS units provide more effective odor and corrosion control at a fraction of the cost of leading chemical alternatives.

In early 2016, BlueInGreen’s most recent HyDOZ® system began operation at the Paul R. Noland Wastewater Treatment Plant in Fayetteville. The fully automated HyDOZ, utilizing highly dissolved ozone, demonstrated significant reduction of emerging contaminants of concern (ECC) ? reducing nearly twice as many contaminants as the previous UV system and removing over half of the contaminants below detection limits during pilot testing. Since startup, the HyDOZ has consistently produced effluent water quality well below permit limits with coliform counts typically in the single digits.

While planning an upcoming plant renovation, Missouri American Water installed a CDOX® 75 system at its Parkville location in May 2016. Like all of BlueInGreen’s solutions, the CDOX unit is skid-mounted and fully integrated, allowing for easy retrofit and expedited construction. The versatile system was designed specifically for Parkville to treat 3.1 million gallons per day while also preparing the facility for its future flow rate of 5 million gallons per day. Capable of delivering up to 38 pounds of dissolved carbon dioxide per hour, the CDOX system will cut the recarbonation process from 30 minutes, as seen in conventional systems, to 60 seconds.

"Our growing momentum in the marketplace is a direct reflection of the industry's shift to more innovative technology," said National Sales Manager Thomas Sichz. "More operators in the water and wastewater sectors, both public and private, are looking to reduce their water, power and chemical costs with our state-of-the-art solutions."

In addition, BlueInGreen delivered twin CDOX 300 units to the City of Olathe. The CDOX systems will work to stabilize pH levels of Olathe’s drinking water by injecting a small side stream with up to 600 pounds of dissolved carbon dioxide per hour. Featuring a 30:1 turndown ratio and a minimum delivery rate of 20 pounds per hour, the groundbreaking CDOX system is designed to reduce the facility’s water and power consumption, while automatically pacing treatment based on plant flow rates or downstream pH readings. The CDOX was pre-selected for this project based on the evaluation and recommendation of Olathe’s design consultant, an Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 20 Firm.

While BlueInGreen has seen a surge in installations in the past six months, the Arkansas-based company has numerous orders scheduled for completion this year.

BlueInGreen’s first international installation in Alberta, Canada, is scheduled to begin startup at the end of summer 2016. The SDOX® 400 will provide Harmony Lake with dissolved oxygen for lake aeration in order to prevent seasonal algae blooms. The unit will be capable of delivering 840 lbs per day of dissolved oxygen, saving on both short- and long-term operational costs throughout the life of the system.

BlueInGreen is also in the process of completing orders for an aeration system in Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as a pH adjustment project in Dickinson, N.D.

“BlueInGreen has come a long way from a local startup to an international water and wastewater treatment provider,” said President John Kucharik. “25 installations is a big accomplishment, but this is only the beginning.”

With all of BlueInGreen’s recent accolades, the company is being viewed within the marketplace as an overnight success ver a decade in the making. In 2010, BlueInGreen’s SDOX was awarded the Water Environment Federation’s Innovative Technology Award. The company was also named the Grand Prize Winner at the 2015 Global Cleantech Cluster Association Later Stage Awards.
