[싱가포르] Hyflux, 아인 수크나 지역에 BOT·BOO 기반 IWPP 제공

이집트 아인 수크나 지역에서 15만㎥/일 민자발전 및 담수 플랜트(IWPP, integrated water and power project)가 BOT(Build-Operate-Transfer) 및 BOO(Build-Own-Operate) 방식에 기반하여 건설된다.

이는 수에즈운하경제지구(Suez Canal Economic Zone) 당국의 요청을 따른 것으로 파악된다.

그렇다고 이로 인해 올해 12월 3일 종료될 회계 연도에 하이플럭스(Hyflux)가 재정적 영향을 받지는 않을 것으로 예상된다.

Hyflux는 성명서에서 5억 달러 규모의 프로젝트를 개발할 파트너를 확인했으며, 수에즈 운하 경제 구역(SCZone, Suez Canal Economic Zone)과 계속해서 투자 조건을 논의할 것이라고 밝혔다.

또한, 담수화 플랜트뿐만 아니라 현장의 457MW(메가와트) 복합 사이클 가스 터빈 발전소는 과잉 전력을 송전망에 보내고 담수화 플랜트에 전력을 공급할 수 있도록 건설될 예정이다.

Hyflux to deliver Ain Sokhna IWPP under BOT/BOO

The 150,000 m3/day integrated water and power project being developed in Ain Sokhna, Egypt will now be developed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) and BOO (Build-Own-Operate) basis.

This follows a request from the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone, which originally awarded Singapore firm Hyflux the contract on an engineering, procurement and construction basis (read story). 

The change is not expected to have a material financial impact on Hyflux for the financial year ending 31 December 2017.

In a statement, Hyflux said it has identified partners to develop the US$500 million project and will continue to discuss the investment terms with SCZone.

As well as the desalination plant, an on-site 457 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant will be constructed to generate power and supply electricity to the desalination plant, with excess power to be sent to the grid.
