[호주] 수자원 인프라 투자 확대

호주는 수자원 인프라에 대한 투자를 확대할 방침이라고 밝혔으며, 이에 따라 각 지방 당국에 2억 호주달러(1억5천500만 달러) 규모의 수자원 프로젝트 자금 지원에 대한 관심을 표명하도록 촉구했다.

이 자금은 내년까지 진행될 댐, 파이프 라인, 관리형 지하수 인공 함양(MAR)을 포함한 기존 수자원 인프라 구축·증대를 위한 것으로 국가 수자원 인프라 개발기금(National Water Infrastructure Development Fund)을 통해 제공될 예정이다.

개발 기금은 안정적인 물 공급을 확보하고 호주에서 지역 경제 혜택을 제공하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 전체 기금은 총 두 부분으로 구성되어 있으며, 자본 요소는 4억 호주달러, 타당성 요소는 5천950만 달러이다.

Australia steps up investment in water projects

The Australian government has put out a call for expressions of interest from state and territory governments to access a round of funding for water projects worth AUD 200 million ($154 million).

The funds will be available from 2017 to 2018 through the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund, to build or augment existing water infrastructure including dams, pipelines, or managed aquifer recharge.

The deadline for applications is 16 March, and 17 August, 2017.

The aim of the development fund is to secure water supply and deliver regional economic benefits in Australia. The overall fund has two parts, a capital component worth AUD 400 million and feasibility component worth AUD 59.5 million. The latest round of funding relates to capital projects.

The money is on top of AUD 247.5 million in water funding commitments announced by the Australian Government during the 2016 Federal Election.
