[영국] 세번트렌트워터, RGF공정 업그레이드 위한 ZS 송풍기 설치
영국의 세번트렌트워터(Severn Trent Water)는 스웨덴 아틀라스 콥코(Atlas Copco)의 ZS 오일 프리 로터리 스크류 블로어를 영국의 6개 수처리 설비를 업그레이드하기 위해 설치했다.
이 설비의 설치는 모래 쓰레기 채취 업무에 저압 공기가 필요한 RGF(Rapid Gravity Filters) 공정으로의 업그레이드를 포함하여 주요 인프라 재생 보수 프로그램의 일부이다.
이 프로젝트의 최신 단계에서는 영국 중부 더비셔 도시 북서부에 식수를 공급하는 더비셔(Derbyshire)의 리틀 이튼(Little Eaton) 수처리 시설에 ZS 송풍기가 설치되었다.
시간이 지남에 따라 현장의 RGF 프로세스가 기존의 송풍기 설치를 교체해야 하는 운영 효율성을 개선하기 위해 상당한 정비를 필요로 한다는 것이 분명해졌다.
미국 덴버에 있는 토목공학회사인 MWH 글로벌이 인프라 업그레이드 프로젝트의 주 계약자 중 하나였다.
MWH는 승인된 Atlas Copco 대리점인 Cooper Freer에게 ZS 75+VEA-C-600 저압 송풍기 2대를 관련 스테인리스스틸 배관과 함께 지정, 제공 및 설치했다.
맥동이 없는 공기는 공정 요구에 따라 최대 3325㎥/h의 출력 속도로 전달된다. 리틀 이튼 (Little Eaton)의 새로운 송풍기는 공장 자체의 기존 인버터 제어 시스템과 연결된 가변 속도 단위로 공급됐다.
MWH 프로젝트 매니저인 켈빈 스미스(Kelvin Smith)는 "Atlas Copco의 대리점 인 Cooper Freer는이 프로젝트가 진행되는 초기 단계에서 많은 변화를 수용하는 디자인 단계에서 매우 적극적이었다. 송풍기는 정시에 도착해 고지 수준의 현장에 성공적으로 설치됐다. 우리는 설계 및 설치로 인해 발생하는 모든 문제를 논의하기 위해 항상 준비가 되어 있으며 건설 단계에서 매우 안전하다는 것을 알았다. 성공적인 프로젝트 완료를 가져왔다"고 밝혔다.

Severn Trent installs ZS blowers to upgrade RGF processes
DERBYSHIRE, UK - Severn Trent Water has installed ZS oil-free rotary screw blowers from Atlas Copco as part of an upgrade to six of its water treatment plants in the UK.
The latest phase of the project has seen ZS blowers installed at the Little Eaton Water Treatment Works in Derbyshire, which supplies drinking water to the growing community in the city’s North-West area.
Over time, it became clear that the site’s RGF process required a significant overhaul in order to improve operational efficiency, which would require the replacement of its existing blower installation.
Civil engineering company MWH Treatment was one of the main contractors for the infrastructure upgrade project.
MWH turned to authorised Atlas Copco distributor Cooper Freer to specify, deliver and install two ZS 75+VEA-C-600 low pressure blowers, together with all associated stainless steel pipework. The blowers were subsequently positioned on a high level external site adjacent to the RGF galleries.
Pulsation-free air is delivered at an output rate of up to 3325 m3h dependent upon process demand. The new blowers at Little Eaton were supplied as variable speed units linked to the plant’s own existing inverter control system.
Kelvin Smith, MWH project manager, said: “Atlas Copco’s distributor, Cooper Freer were very pro-active at the design phase in accommodating quite a few changes at an early point in the progress of this project. The blowers arrived on time and were successfully installed on the high ground level site. We found that they were always on hand to discuss any issue arising from design and installation and were very safety conscious during the construction stage resulting in a very successful project completion.”
Stephen James, Severn Trent Water’s project manager for the upgrade at Little Eaton, said: “Not only do the blowers enable a smoother flow in the filter de-scouring process, they also provide the peace of mind in providing 100 per cent oil-free air to reduce the risk of contamination to the drinking water supply.”
Severn Trent Water chose MWH as one of the design and construct contractors for its AMP6 framework. MWH will work alongside Severn Trent Water’s own staff to manage the operation, supporting the delivery of its programme of work throughout AMP6; which runs until March 2020.
Apart from Little Eaton, Cooper Freer has installed four Atlas Copco 90 kW ZS variable speed blowers to replace all the existing lobe blower technology at Severn Trent Water’s Worcester treatment plant.
