[튀니지] SONEDE, Sfax 해수담수화 프로젝트에 3억달러 확보

튀니지의 국가 수자원 유틸리티인 SONEDE가 일본 국제협력기구(JICA)로부터 Sfax 지역에 들어서는 해수담수화 플랜트를 건설하기 위해 약 3억2천800만 달러의 융자를 확보했다.

이 자금은 10만㎥/일 규모의 담수화 플랜트 시설을 것으로, 해상 운송 파이프의 시공, 조달 및 설치, 입찰 지원 및 건설 감독 등의 자문 서비스를 위한 것이다. 

프로젝트 건설에 대한 국제 경쟁 입찰을 위한 초기 조달 패키지에 대한 입찰 발표가 오는 8월에 있을 예정이며, 건설·감독 등 컨설팅 서비스에 대한 초청장이 10월에 나온다.

프로젝트는 2023년 6월경에 완료될 것으로 예상된다.

Sfax 지역은 튀니지에서 두 번째로 큰 도시로 60만 명의 인구가 거주하고 있다. 올해 물부족 현상을 경험했으며 2030년까지 물공급과 수요의 격차가 하루 평균 15만㎥에 이를 것으로 예상된다. 이에 이번 프로젝트가 생활 환경을 개선하고 지역의 경제 발전과 사회 안정에 기여할 것으로 기대되고 있다.

Tunisia's SONEDE secures $328 million for Sfax seawater desal project

Tunisia's national water utility SONEDE has secured a loan of JPY 36.7 billion ($328 million) from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to build a seawater desalination plant at Sfax.

The money is for a 100,000m3/d facility, for construction, procurement and installation of water transportation pipes, and for consultation services including bidding assistance and construction supervision.

A tender announcement of the initial procurement package for international competitive bidding on project construction is scheduled for August 2017, and a letter of invitation for consulting services including construction supervision will come in October 2017.

The project is expected to complete by June 2023.

Sfax is Tunisia’s second largest city, with a population in the metro district of 600,000 people. It has experienced a water shortage in 2017, and the gap between water supply and demand is predicted to reach 150,000 m3/d by 2030. The project is expected to improve the living environment, and to contribute to economic development and social stability in the region.

The loan term is for 25 years, of which the first seven will be a grace period with interest of 1.7 percent.
