[싱가포르] 하이드로켐, 살랄라 분쟁 중재서 1천600만달러 승소

중국의 셉코3(Sepco III)은 오만의 살라라(Salalah) IWPP(Independent Water and Power Project)에 대한 엔지니어링 및 조달 계약으로 인해 발생한 분쟁과 관련하여 하이드로켐(Hydrochem)에 1천600만 달러를 지불하도록 명령 받았다.

이 분쟁은 프로젝트를 위한 담수화 설비의 개발·설계·제조를 위한 2009년 8월 28일자 계약과 관련이 있다. 중재는 싱가포르 하이플럭스(Hyflux)의 자회사인 하이드로켐(Hydrochem)에 의해 이루어졌다.

살랄라 IPWP는 지난 2ap Industries)와 오만 투자회사(Oman Investment Corporation)의 합작 투자로 진행됐다. 중국의 셉코3은 엔지니어링, 조달 및 건설 계약자였고 하이드로켐은 해수담수화 플랜트의 하청 업체였다.

이자와 비용에 대한 별도의 판결이 뒤따를 예정이다.

Hydrochem wins $16 million in arbitration over Salalah dispute

Sepco III of China has been ordered to pay $16 million to Hydrochem in relation to disputes arising out of an engineering and procurement contract on Salalah Independent Power and Water Project, Oman.

The dispute relates to a contract dated 28 August 2009 for the development, design and manufacture of desalination units for the project. The arbitration was brought by Hydrochem, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyflux.

Salalah IPWP was awarded to a joint venture of Sembcorp Industries and Oman Investment Corporation, in 2009.

Sepco III of China was the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, and Hydrochem, a Hyflux subsidiary, was the sub-contractor for the seawater desalination plants.

A separate ruling on interest and costs will follow.
