[미국] 플루언스, 바하마에 최초로 해수담수화 건설 계약
플루언스(Fluence Corp)는 카리브해 연안국인 바하마(Bahamas)에 최초로 해수담수화 플랜트를 건설하는 계약을 체결했다.
라브 바하마사(Rav Bahamas Ltd)와의 계약은 바하마의 노스비미니(North Bimini)에 위치한 리조트 월드(Resorts World) 소유지에서 3개의 니로박스(NIROBOX ™) 스마트 패키지 해수담수화 설비의 공급 및 설치를 위한 것이다.
이것은 Fluence가 Bahamas에서 처음으로 사업자가 건설공사는 물론 소유·운영·인도 등을 모두 책임지는 BOOT(Build-Own-Operate & Transfer) 계약서이기도 하다.
6개월 이내에 위탁될 Nirobox SW 장치는 취수한 바닷물 300만 리터(L)를 처리하고 새로 지은 힐튼호텔, 지역 주택 소유자를 포함해 리조트의 음용, 관개 및 운영을 위한 식수를 제공한다.
Fluence 전무이사 겸 CEO인 헨리 차라베(Henry Charrabe)는 "바하마에서 처음으로 Nirobox SW를 배치하고 리조트를 위한 첫 번째 BOOT 프로젝트는 전략적으로 중요다"라고 말하면서 "자금 조달 능력은 이 프로젝트를 고객에게 더욱 매력적으로 만들어 주었고 Fluence에 대한 반복적인 수입을 늘릴 수 있기를 기대되며, Rav Bahamas와 카리브해에서 일반적으로 진행되는 프로젝트 중 첫 번째 프로젝트가 되기를 바란다"고 말했다.

First Fluence desalination units in the Bahamas
Fluence Corp Ltd has secured a contract for the deployment of the company’s first seawater desalination plant in the Bahamas.
The contract with Rav Bahamas Ltd is for the supply and installation of three NIROBOX™ smart-packaged seawater (SW) desalination units at their Resorts World property, located in North Bimini, Bahamas.
This is also Fluence’s first Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) contract in the Bahamas.
The Nirobox SW units, which will be commissioned within six months, will treat three million litres per day of seawater from a well intake and provide potable water for drinking, irrigation and operations for the resort, including the newly built Hilton hotel, the local homeowners’ association serving over 300 homes and condominiums, and the municipality of North Bimini.
"The first Nirobox SW deployment in the Bahamas and our first BOOT project for a resort are both strategically important,” said Fluence managing director & CEO Henry Charrabe. “Our ability to provide financing made this project even more appealing to the customer and allows us to increase recurring revenues for Fluence. We hope this will be the first of many projects with Rav Bahamas and in the Caribbean generally.”
