[영국] 실트부스터, 웨섹스 워터용 MBBR 장치 제공
시영 및 산업폐수 처리 시스템의 영국 처리업체인 실트부스터 프로세스 솔루션(Siltbuster Process Solutions, SPS)는 최근 웨섹스 워터(Wessex Water)와 파트너 관계를 맺고 바이오 필터 재처리 중에 MBBR 기술을 제공했다.
보수 작업은 영국의 서머셋(Somerset)에 있는 웨섹스 워터(Wessex Water)의 웰링턴 폐수 처리장에서 이루어졌다. 식물의 바이오 필터 베드는 한 번에 하나씩 오프라인으로 가져와야 했지만 흐름 및 부하를 처리하기에 충분한 생물학적 용량이 남아 있었다.
SPS는 부분적으로 처리된 바이오 필터 유출 물의 일부가 통과하는 3개의 임시 이동 베드 생물막 반응기(MBBR) 처리 장치를 설치했다. MBBR 30s에서의 생물학적 처리 후에, 유출 전에 2차 정산을 위해 기존의 부유조로 유류가 중력을 가했다.
병렬로 작동하고 각 장치에 전용 스키드 장착 듀티 / 대기 송풍기 장치가 있는 3개의 SPS 장치는 암모니아 및 소량의 잔여 BOD를 제거하여 시간 당 90㎥의 최대 유속을 처리할 수 있었다.
Wessex Water의 기술 관리자인 Jill Smith는 "MBBR은 우리에게 필요한 보수작업 동안 환경청의 제한 사항을 준수할 수 있는 효과적인 솔루션을 제공했다"고 밝혔다.

Siltbuster provides MBBR units for Wessex Water
Siltbuster Process Solutions (SPS), a UK manufacturer of treatment systems for municipal and industrial wastewater sectors, recently partnered with Wessex Water, to provide its MBBR technology during a bio-filter refurbishment.
The refurbishment work took place at Wessex Water’s Wellington wastewater treatment plant in Somerset, UK. The plant’s bio-filter beds needed to be taken off-line one at a time, but this would have left insufficient biological capacity to treat the flows and loads.
SPS installed three temporary Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) treatment units through which a proportion of the partially treated bio-filter effluent was passed. Following biological treatment in the MBBR 30s, the flow gravitated to existing humus tanks for secondary settlement before discharge.
Operating in parallel, and with each unit having a dedicated skid mounted duty/standby blower arrangement, the three SPS units were able to treat a combined maximum flow rate of 90m3 per hour, removing predominantly ammonia and a small amount of residual BOD.
Jill Smith, technical manager at Wessex Water, said: “The MBBRs provided us with an effective solution that ensures we remain compliant with our Environment Agency limits during the necessary refurbishment work.”
