[영국] 요크셔 워터, 고체 액체 분리용 'CDEnviro' 솔루션 구매
700개 이상의 상하수처리공사를 운영하는 요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)가 고체 액체 분리를 위해 CDEnviro의 새로운 'MSU : 10G' 휴대용 스크린에 투자했다.
요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)는 요크셔 지역에서 8만3천㎞가 넘는 상하수도 관로를 정비하고 매일 13만개 사업장은 물론 500만명 이상에게 깨끗한 물을 공급하고 있다.
요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)는 'MSU:10G' 솔루션을 통해 탱크 세척 공정 효율은 물론 현장 내 폭기 탱크(aeration tank)를 세척해 운영을 간소화할 수 있다.
또, CDEnviro의 솔루션을 사용하면 물 회사가 1차 폐수에서 걸레와 모래를 제거하여 탱크를 배수할 필요가 없다.
요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)의 프로젝트 기술 전문가인 이안 백스비(Ian Baxby)는 "역사적으로 슬러지를 처리하기 위해서는 최대 30마일 떨어진 곳으로 운반되어야만 했다"고 말했다.

이안 백스비(Ian Baxby)는 이어 "이제 현장에서 탱크를 청소할 수 있는 기술을 갖추게 되었다. 이전에는 이 자재를 다른 시설에서 30마일 이상 떨어진 곳에서 처리하여 상당한 가도중지시간, 운송비용 및 높은 폐기물 처리비용이 발생했었다"라고 말했다.
'MSU:10G' 휴대용 솔루션은 요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)가 외부로 운송하기 전에 모레(grit)와 이물질(rag) 등을 걸러낼 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 페기물의 값 비싼 운송을 줄일 수 있다.
또한 모레(grit)을 재활용하여 폐기 비용을 절감하고 비구조적 콘크리트 공사와 파이프 깔개(bedding)에 적용되는 매립지에서 사용 가능한 자재를 전용할 수 있다.
올해 초 요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)는 온실가스를 줄이고 폐기물을 재활용하는 신기술을 시행하겠다고 밝혔다.
요크셔워터(Yorkshire Water)는 CCm 테크놀로지스(CCm Technologies)와 협력하여 하·폐수 처리 작업 중 하나에 새로운 암모니아와 인(P) 회복 공정을 배치했다.

Yorkshire Water purchases CDEnviro solution for solid liquid separation
Yorkshire Water, which operates more than 700 water and wastewater treatment works, has invested in CDEnviro’s new MSU:10G portable screen for solid liquid separation.
The water and sewerage services provider maintains over 83,000km of water and sewerage pipework in the Yorkshire region and delivers clean water to more than five million people as well as 130,000 businesses every day.
The MSU:10G solution allows Yorkshire Water to streamline its operations by improving tank cleaning processes efficiency as well as to clean aeration tanks on site.
CDEnviro’s solution also enables the water firm to remove rag and grit from primary wastewater, removing the need to drain the tanks.
Yorkshire Water project technical specialist Ian Baxby said historically, sludge had to be transported between sites up to 30 miles apart to be processed.
Baxby said: “We now have the technology in place to clean the tanks on site. Previously, we had to process this material upwards of 30 miles away at another facility resulting in significant downtime, transport costs, and high waste disposal costs.”
The MSU:10G portable solution allows Yorkshire Water to screen grit and rag prior to its transportation to off-site as well as reduce the costly transportation of waste material.
It also allows to recycle grit to decrease disposal costs and divert useable material from landfill which has applications in non-structural concrete works and pipe bedding.
Earlier this year, Yorkshire Water said it will implement new technology that reduces greenhouse gases and recycles waste material.
The company collaborated with CCm Technologies to deploy a new ammonia and phosphorus recovery process at one of its wastewater treatment works.
