[미국] 하와이워터, 케아우호우 하·페수 서비스 제공 협약 체결
하와이워터서비스(Hawaii Water Service)가 하와이섬 케아우호우(Keauhou)에서 케아우호우 커뮤니티 서비스(KCSI ; Keauhou Community Service)의 하·폐수 시스템 자산을 매입하고 하·폐수 유틸리티 서비스를 제공하는 계약을 체결했다.
이번 인수는 하와이 공공시설위원회( Hawaii Public Utilities Commission)의 실사와 승인을 받아야 한다.
KCSI는 케아우호우 베이 시설(Keauhou Bay Facility)과 카알루우 비치 파크(Kahaluu Beach Park)와 함께 1천500명 이상의 주거, 호텔 및 상업 고객을 제공한다.
코나CC(Kona Country Club)에 골프장 관개용으로 방류수를 공급한다.
하와이워터((Hawaii Water Service)는 운영 및 유지보수 계약을 통해 2018년부터 케아우호우 시스템(Keauhou system)을 운영하고 있다.
하와이워터는 앞으로도 지역 하·폐수시스템 인프라에 투자해 환경을 보호하고 소비자들에게 신뢰할 수 있는 서비스를 제공하겠다고 밝혔다.
하와이워터그룹(Hawaii Water group)의 사장 겸 CEO는 "KCSI는 케아우호우(Keauhou) 고객에게 신뢰할 수 있는 고품질 서비스를 지속적으로 제공할 수 있도록 신뢰하고 있다"라면서 "우리는 케아우호우(Keauhou) 주민, 기업, 방문객들에게 섬에 있는 우리의 모든 고객들이 지금과 세대를 막론하고 기대되고 마땅한 품질과 서비스, 가치를 제공하기를 기대한다"라고 말했다.
하와이워터는 마우이(Maui), 오아후(Oahu), 하와이 빅 아일랜드(Big Island of Hawaii)에 위치한 많은 지역사회에 물과 하·폐수 서비스를 제공한다.
하와이워터는 캘리포니아 워터서비스(California Water Service), 뉴멕시코 워터 서비스(New Mexican Water Service), 워싱턴 워터 서비스(Washington Water Service) 등이 소속된 캘리포니아 워터서비스 그룹(California Water Service Group)의 자회사다.
이들 기업은 캘리포니아, 뉴멕시코, 워싱턴, 하와이 등 100여 개 지역 200만 명에게 규제 및 비규제 공공 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

Hawaii Water to acquire wastewater system assets of Keauhou Community Services
Hawaii Water Service (Hawaii Water) has signed an agreement to buy wastewater system assets of Keauhou Community Services (KCSI) and provide wastewater utility service at Keauhou, in the Island of Hawaii.
This acquisition is subject to due diligence and approval of Hawaii Public Utilities Commission.
Along with the Keauhou Bay Facility and Kahaluu Beach Park, KCSI serves over 1,500 residential, hotel, and commercial customers.
It also provides effluent to Kona Country Club for golf course irrigation.
Through an operation and maintenance contract, Hawaii Water has been operating the Keauhou system since 2018.
Hawaii Water said that it will continue to invest in local wastewater system infrastructure to protect the environment and provide reliable service to its consumers.
Hawaii Water group president and CEO said: “We appreciate KCSI’s confidence and trust in us to continue providing reliable, high-quality service to its Keauhou customers. We look forward to providing Keauhou residents, businesses, and visitors the same quality, service, and value all of our customers on the islands have come to expect and deserve, both now and for generations to come.”
Hawaii Water delivers water and wastewater service to many communities located on,Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
Hawaii Water is a wholly owned subsidiary of California Water Service Group, which also includes California Water Service, New Mexico Water Service, Washington Water Service, and more.
Together, these firms offer regulated and non-regulated utility service to over two million people in over 100 communities in California, New Mexico, Washington, and Hawaii.
