[호주] SA Water, 수에즈 그룹과 상하수도 서비스 계약 체결
호주 사우스 오스트레일리아 정부(South Australian Government) 소유의 에스에이 워터(SA Water)사가 프랑스 글로벌 물기업인 수에즈(SUEZ)와 새로운 제휴 계약을 체결했다.
총 계약 금액은 1억7천만 유로로 계약 기간은 5년 이상이며, 호주의 애들레이드(Adelaide) 대도시로의 하·폐수 서비스뿐만 아니라 먹는물 생산과 처리를 계획하고 있다.
수에즈(SUEZ)가 2021년 7월부터 100만 명 안팎의 요구 조건을 충족시키기 위해 5개의 정수처리시설과 5개의 하수처리장을 가동하게 된다.
SUEZ의 접근방식은 '계약을 지역사회에 대한 가시적 경제 및 사회 경제적 이익으로 전환( ‘transform the contract into tangible economic and socio-economic benefits for the community)' 하는 단계를 포함하는 지역 산업 참여 계획을 포함할 것이라고 말했다.
이 계획의 일환으로 회사는 지속가능한 비용 절감을 달성하기 위한 비즈니스 개선 프로그램을 시행할 계획이다.
이 프로그램은 수에즈(SUEZ)의 AQUADVANCED(수도시스템 선진화 관리 소프트웨어) 제품군을 포함하여 수에즈(SUEZ)가 개발한 솔루션의 구현에 의해 지원된다.
수에즈(SUEZ)의 AQUADVANCED(수도시스템 선진화 관리 소프트웨어) 제품군은 식수를 확보하고 생산 시스템과 유통망의 전반적인 성능을 높이기 위해 개발된 디지털 도구이다.
수에즈 그룹(SUEZ Group)의 아시아 태평양(APAC) 및 아메리카(AMECA) 지역 & 산업 키 어카운트(Industrial Key Accounts) 수석 부사장인 아나 지로스(Ana Giros)는 "수에즈의 식수와 하·폐수 분야에 대한 전문 지식과 지식을 통해, 우리는 SA Water가 높은 수준의 식수 및 하·폐수 서비스를 제공하겠다는 약속을 뒷받침할 것이다"라고 말했다.
아나 지로스(Ana Giros) 수석부사장은 이어 "에스에이 워터(SA Water)와의 계약 갱신은 그룹의 정부 당국과의 장기적인 파트너십 전략을 더욱 보여주고 있으며, 국제적으로 우리의 입지를 강화하는 그룹의 전략 계획인 'Shaping SUEZ 2030'과 일치한다"고 덧붙였다.
2020년 8월 캐나다 워털루(Waterloo) 지역은 온타리오주 헤스펠러 하수처리장(Hespeler Wastewater Treatment Plant)의 MABR(Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor) 시스템을 장착하기 위해 수에즈(SUEZ)의 '지릉(ZeeLung)' 기술을 채택했다.
2019년에는 인도 뉴델리(New Delhi)에 하수처리장을 건설하고 운영(build and operate)하기 위해 1억4,500만 유로에 계약을 체결했다.

SA Water inks new alliance contract with SUEZ Group
South Australian Government-owned SA Water has entered into a new alliance contract with French utility-based company SUEZ.
The contract worth €170m is for a period of over five years and envisages the production and treatment of water as well as wastewater services to Adelaide metropolitan city in Australia.
It will see SUEZ operate five drinking water and five wastewater treatment plants to meet the requirements of around one million people, starting July next year.
SUEZ said that its approach will include a local industry participation plan with steps to ‘transform the contract into tangible economic and socio-economic benefits for the community’.
As part of this plan, the company intends to roll out a business improvement programme to accomplish sustainable savings.
This programme will be supported by the implementation of solutions developed by SUEZ, including its AQUADVANCED suite.
AQUADVANCED suite is said to be a digital tool developed to secure drinking water and enhance the overall performance of production systems and distribution networks.
SUEZ Group APAC/ AMECA Regions & Industrial Key Accounts senior executive vice-president Ana Giros said: “Through SUEZ’s expertise and knowledge in the water and wastewater sector, we will be supporting SA Water in its commitment to deliver high-standards water and wastewater services.
“The contract’s renewal with SA Water further demonstrates the Group’s long-term partnership strategy with the country’s authorities and falls in line with the Group’s strategic plan ‘Shaping SUEZ 2030’, strengthening our position internationally.”
In August this year, the Region of Waterloo in Canada selected ZeeLung technology from SUEZ to equip the Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) system at the Hespeler Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ontario.
Last year, the company won a contract worth €145m to build and operate a wastewater treatment plant in New Delhi, India.
