[필리핀] 막탄 록 인더스트리즈, 담수 생산 확대 계획

필리핀의 막탄 록 인더스트리즈(Mactan Rock Industries)가 필리핀 개발은행(Development Bank of the Philippines,)으로부터 약 1천만 달러 규모의 융자를 확보하여 담수 생산을 확대할 계획이다.

이번 프로젝트는 막탄 경제구역(MEZ) 1·2구역 및 막탄-세부 국제공항(Mactan-Cebu International Airport)에서 담수 생산을 5천㎥/일에서 2만5천㎥/일 규모로 확대할 계획이다.

한편, 필리핀에서는 각종 산업과 관광업이 발달함에 따라 담수에 대한 수요가 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 메이컨 록 인더스트리즈(Macon Rock Industries)는 국가 내 가장 큰 담수화 서비스 제공기관 중 하나로, 세부에서 일평균 약 2만2천㎥/일 규모의 해수 시설과 소규모의 여러 염수·해수 관련 시설을 운영하고 있다.

Philippines' Mactan Rock Industries to expand desal production

Mactan Rock Industries of the Philippines is to expand production of desalinated water after securing a PHP 500 million($10 million) loan from the Development Bank of the Philippines, reports Manilla Bulletin.

The project is to expand production of desalinated water at facilities in Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ) 1, MEZ 2, and at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, from 5,000 to 25,000 m3/d.

Demand for desalinated water is rising fast in the Philippines as industry and tourism develops. Macon Rock Industries is one of the county’s largest desalination providers, operating a 22,000 m3/d seawater facility in Cebu City, as well as a number of smaller brackish and seawater water facilities.
