[중국] 부양식 원자력 발전소·담수화 플랜트 건설 계획

중국의 국영 CNNP(China National Nuclear Power)는 부양식 원자력 발전소와 해수담수화 플랜트를 건설하기 위해 새로운 합작 회사를 설립했다. 

이 사업은 해상 원자력 연구·개발·건설·운영 및 관리와 더불어 생산된 전력과 담수화 된 물의 판매에 중점을 두고 있다. 상하이에서 1억5천만 달러의 자본으로 사업에 착수할 예정이다. 

부유식 원전은 육지에 원자력 발전소를 건설하는 것보다 조선소에서 더 저렴한 가격으로 대량 생산이 가능할 수 있으며, 이는 맞춤형 기술설계를 필요로 한다. 새로운 기업은 처음에 20개의 설비를 생산하는 것을 목표로 한다. 

기업은 방글라데시와 같이 전력과 물에 대한 수요가 높고 토지자원이 부족한 국가들뿐만 아니라 유라시아와 인도·아시아·태평양 지역 시장을 연결하는 중국의 현대판 실크로드인 ‘일대일로(一帶一路, One Belt One Road)’ 경제 이니셔티브(economic initiative)에 참여하는 기업들에게 설비를 수출할 것으로 기대하고 있다. 

합작 법인은 CNNP와 Zhejiang Zheneng Electric Power, Shanghai Guosheng Group, Jiangnan Shipyard, Shanghai Electric과 협력 관계에 있다.

China to sell off-the-shelf floating nuclear desalination units

Chinese state-owned China National Nuclear Power (CNNP) has formed a new joint venture company to build floating nuclear power and seawater desalination plants.

The business will focus on maritime nuclear power research, development, construction, operations and management; and on selling power and desalinated water. It will be registered in Shanghai with capital of $150 million.

The floating plants can be mass produced in shipyards more cheaply than constructing nuclear power plants on land, which requires bespoke engineering design. The new enterprise is aiming to produce 20 such plants initially.

The expectation is that the company will export the plants to countries with high power and water demand and scarce land resources, such as Bangladesh, as well as those participating in the One Belt, One Road economic initiative that aims to link Eurasian and Indo-Asia Pacific markets.

The joint venture is a collaboration between CNNP and Zhejiang Zheneng Electric Power, Shanghai Guosheng Group, Jiangnan Shipyard, and Shanghai Electric.
