에너지 효율 및 재생 에너지 부문 청정기술 통합업체인 아메레스코(Ameresco)는 11일(현지시각) 미국 콜로라도 주 지역사회와 얌파 밸리 전기 협회(Yampa Valley Electric Association, YVEA)와 협력해 태양 전지 지역 프로젝트를 발표했다. 이 프로젝트는 스팀보트 스프링스(Steamboat Springs), 크레이그(Graig), 해이든(Hayden), 얌파(Yampa) 카운티 등에 태양열 발전 전기를 공급할 예정이다.

10월에 완공되는 이 프로젝트는 얌파 밸리 지역에서 가장 큰 태양 전지가 될 것이며, 최대의 전기를 생산하기 위해 하루 종일 태양의 궤도를 따라가는 양면 태양 전지판과 단일축 추적 장치를 특징으로 한다. YVEA의 배전 시스템에 통합된 이 전지는 연간 시간당 약 964만 킬로와트를 생산하도록 설계됐으며, 이는 1천329가구 이상이 소비하는 연간 평균 전력량과 동일하다.

이 프로젝트를 통해 생성되는 청정 에너지는 약 13만321톤의 이산화탄소를 20년간 저감할 수 있도록 설계됐으며, 이는 1년간 승용차 2만9천 대를 운행하는 것과 같다.

이 프로젝트를 기념하는 축하 미디어 행사가 지난 8일 얌파 밸리 지역 태양 가든(Yampa Valley Regional Solar Garden)에서 열렸다. 행사에 참여한 크레이그, YVEA, 아메레스코 관계자 등은 프로젝트가 지역사회와 환경 전반에 미치는 영향에 대해 언급했다.

Ameresco Announces Innovative Regional Solar Array Project in Collaboration with City of Craig, Yampa Valley Electric Association, and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs

The Yampa Valley Regional Solar Garden is designed to generate 9.64 million kWh annually in solar electricity for Steamboat Springs, Craig, Hayden, Yampa, and Routt and Moffat counties.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. AND CRAIG, Colo. – September 11, 2023 – Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE: AMRC), a leading cleantech integrator specializing in energy efficiency and renewable energy, today announced the dedication of a regional solar energy project in partnership with communities surrounding the City of Craig, CO, and Yampa Valley Electric Association (YVEA). The project will see the construction of the Yampa Valley Regional Solar Garden, a 4-megawatt-AC solar array spanning 20 acres to provide solar-generated electricity to Steamboat Springs, Craig, Hayden, Yampa, as well as Routt and Moffat counties.

The project, set to be completed in October, will be the largest solar array in the Yampa Valley Region and features bifacial solar panels and single-axis tracker racking that follow the sun’s trajectory throughout the day for maximum electricity generation. Following its integration into YVEA’s distribution system, the array is designed to produce approximately 9.64 million kilowatt hours annually—equivalent to the average annual electricity consumed by more than 1,329 homes.

A celebratory media event was held on September 8, 2023, to mark the dedication and completion of the project at the site of the Yampa Valley Regional Solar Garden. Speakers from the City of Craig, YVEA and Ameresco shared remarks about the impact of the project on both the community and the environment as a whole.
