물기술 기업인 A. O. 스미스 코퍼레이션(A. O. Smith Corporation, AOS)은 애리조나에 본사를 둔 수처리 기업인 투손(Tucson)의 워터 텍(Water Tec)을 지난 9월 6일 전액 현금 거래로 인수했다고 밝혔다.
AOS는 성장 중인 북미 수처리 사업 확장에 박차를 가하기 위해 다수의 인수를 추진해 왔다. AOS는 지난 2016년 아쿠아사나(Aquasana)의 인수를 시작해 2017년 헤이그 퀄리티 워터(Hague Quality Water), 2019년 워터 라이트 그룹(Water-Right Group), 2021년 마스터 워터 코퍼레이션(Master Water Corporation), 2022년 아틀랜틱 필터(Atlantic Filter) 등 5건의 인수를 완료했다.
1967년 설립된 워터 텍은 주거용, 상업용, 기관용 및 산업용 수처리 장비를 제조 및 판매하는 기업이다. 워터 텍의 본사는 애리조나주 투산에 있으며, 공장은 네바다주 레스베거스에 위치해 있다. 워터 텍의 제품은 투산에 위치한 소매 대리점을 통해 판매된다.

A. O. Smith Acquires Water Tec of Tucson, a Water Treatment Solutions Provider, to Expand West Coast Presence
Water technology company A. O. Smith Corporation (NYSE: AOS) announced today it acquired Water Tec of Tucson, an Arizona-based water treatment company, in an all-cash transaction. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Water Tec joins other A. O. Smith acquisitions, Atlantic Filter (2022), Master Water Corporation (2021), Water-Right Group (2019), Hague Quality Water (2017), and Aquasana (2016) in the company’s growing North America Water Treatment business.
“The acquisition of Water Tec further expands our west coast presence and supports our growth strategy. A. O. Smith delivers innovative, differentiated solutions that heat and treat water and Water Tec aligns perfectly with our values and commitment to quality,” said Kevin J. Wheeler, president and chief executive officer.
The second-generation, family-owned company was founded in 1967 and is based in Tucson, Arizona with an assembly location in Las Vegas, Nevada. Water Tec is a manufacturer and dealer of water treatment equipment for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial use. Water Tec’s products are sold through their retail dealership located in Tucson, Arizona.
