한해를 마무리하며, 세계적 클린테크(cleantech) 및 사회적 영향력 기업인 374Water는 중요한 성과로 점철된 한 해를 되돌아봤다. 

이들의 행보는 미국환경보호청(EPA)이 ‘영원한 화학 물질’이라고 불리는 PFAS를 해결하는 데 주력한 것과 유사하다. 획기적인 기술시연부터 전략적 파트너십 및 글로벌 인지도에 이르기까지 이 회사는 2023년 동안 환경관리 및 혁신에 대한 확실한 성과를 나타냈다. 

 50년 만에 처음으로 UN Water 컨퍼런스를 개최한 374Water는 초임계수산화시스템 주간(SCWO Week)을 개최해 초임계수산화시스템(Suppercritical water Oxidation System , SCWO)을 활용한 AirSCWO 장치를 선보였다.

인디애나주 코코모에 있는 제조 파트너의 시설에서 열린 이 행사에는 잠재 고객, 애널리스트, 투자자 및 미디어를 포함해 400명 이상의 손님이 참석했다. 

이 행사에서 374Water는 캘리포니아 오렌지 카운티에 배치될 예정인 첫 번째 상업용 유닛을 공개했다.  

이와 함께 374Water는 호주와 뉴질랜드에 이 기술을 유통하기 위해 EGL(The Environmental Group Limited)과 독점 파트너십을 맺었다.  

374Water의 SCWO 기술은 PFAS 처리 능력을 인정받았으며, 군사 기지에서 오염 물질을 처리하는 데도 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 

이 회사는 국방부에 의해 시제품 프로젝트 그룹 중 하나로 선정돼, Clean Earth 시설에서 기술을 시연한다.

아울러 374Water는 미네소타 자원에 관한 입법-시민 위원회(LCCMR)로부터 자금 지원 권고를 받았다. 이 자금은 세인트클라우드(St. Cloud)에 AirSCWO 6시스템을 적용해 바이오 고형물 및 수처리 잔류물에서 PFAS를 제거하는 것을 목표로 한다.

한편, 374Water는 세계경제포럼(World Economic Forum)의 'Yes San Francisco, Urban Sustainability Challenge'인 UpLink에서 최고의 혁신 기업 중 하나로 선정된 바 있다.

또한 이 회사는 선도적인 상하수도 산업 컨퍼런스인 ‘2023년 미국 수질환경기술 전시회’(WEFTEC 2023)에서 AirSCWO 기술로 혁신 기술상을 수상했다.

Further emphasizing that commitment, 374Water formed an exclusive partnership with The Environmental Group Limited (EGL) for distribution in Australia and New Zealand. EGL is an exclusive distributor for 374Water’s AirSCWO technology in the region, expanding the impact of this groundbreaking solution on environmental conservation. 

374Water’s SCWO technology was also recognized specifically for its ability to treat PFAS, and will play a significant role in treating the contaminants at military bases. The company was selected by the Department of Defense to demonstrate its technology at a Clean Earth facility as part of a group of prototype projects, as well as by the Colorado School of Mines.
