이탈리아 다국적 기업인 인더스트리 드노라(Industrie De Nora S.p.A.)는 지속 가능한 기술과 신흥 그린 수소 산업의 선두 주자로서, 브라질 소로카바에 있는 자사의 공장에 100% 녹색 에너지를 생산해 현장의 전기 수요를 충당할 새로운 태양광 발전소를 준공했다고 밝혔다. 이와 함께 드노라는 태양광 발전량 증대를 목표로 하는 글로벌 프로젝트를 지속해서 추진하고 있다.

총설치 용량이 1.3GWh가 넘는 브라질의 태양광 발전소는 탈탄소화를 향한 드노라의 전략 중 하나다. 2023년에는 독일 공장과 이탈리아 밀라노(Milan) 및 콜로뇨 몬테제(Cologno Monzese) 공장에 태양광 패널을 설치했다.

총면적 1만2천㎡에 달하는 1천850개 이상의 패널이 활성화되면 100% 재생에너지를 기반으로 공장을 운영해 발전 관련 배출량을 줄여 온실가스(GHG) 배출량을 크게 줄일 수 있다. 또한 이번 프로젝트를 통해 드노라는 지난 12월에 제시한 '2030년 지속 가능성 계획'에서 발표한 2030년까지 Scope 2 배출량 50%를 감소한다는 목표에 한 발짝 가까워진다.

드노라는 이번 브라질 공장의 태양광 발전소 준공을 통해 2023년 설치 용량 목표인 3.1GWh를 달성할 수 있게 됐으며, 이는 2025년까지 매년 태양광에서 8GWh의 설치 용량을 달성하고자 하는 목표에 도달하기 위해 전 세계에 있는 자사의 공장을 점진적으로 참여시키기 위한 광범위한 전력 개발 프로그램의 일환이다.

De Nora: Sorocaba site in Brazil will generate 100% of electricity through installation of photovoltaic panels, in line with the group's ESG plan

After Germany, a new milestone in De Nora's green transition process is achieved with the inauguration of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of more than 1.3 GWh.The project is a key initiative of the company's Sustainability Plan and contributes to the achievement of the target of a 50% reduction of Scope 2 emissions by 2030.

Industrie De Nora S.p.A. (“De Nora”), an Italian multinational listed on Euronext Milan, specializing in electrochemistry, a leader in sustainable technologies and the emerging green hydrogen industry, continues its global project aimed at increasing solar power generation at its plants with the inauguration of a new solar power plant in Sorocaba, Brazil, which will generate 100% green energy to cover the site’s electricity needs. 

The photovoltaic plant in Brazil, having a total installed capacity of more than 1.3 GWh, is part of De Nora's path toward decarbonization. In fact, in 2023, photovoltaic panels were installed at the plant in Germany and in Italy at both the Milan and Cologno Monzese sites.

In fact, the activation of more than 1850 panels, covering a total area of 12,000 square meters, will significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by lowering the emissions related to power generation at the plant, which will now be based on 100% renewable energy. In addition, the project brings De Nora closer to achieving the target of a 50% reduction of Scope 2 emissions by 2030, as announced in the Sustainability Plan for 2030 presented by the company in December 2023.

The successful outcome of the initiative in Brazil, which enabled the Group to reach and far exceed its ambitious 2023 total installed capacity target of 3.1 GWh, is part of a broader strategic development program that will gradually involve the Group's numerous international sites to reach the goal of 8 GWh of installed capacity from solar sources each year by 2025.
